Argo St George’s three partners have more than 65 years of combined experience, working in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking and the Hedge fund industry. They have all worked as advisors, capital raisers and as principal investors.

Mark Nelson-Smith, Partner
Mark has over 20 years' advisory experience in corporate finance, strategic management consultancy, financial restructuring and as an non-executive board director and advisor to a number of mainly early stage companies.
Prior to joining Argo St George, Mark spent two years as a Senior Advisor to One Square Advisors, a specialist German restructuring boutique and 14 years at UBS Investment Bank as a Managing Director in the European Communications team and at SBC Warburg and SG Warburg, both in London and Milan. Prior to UBS, Mark worked for PA Consulting Group in the Strategic Services Department in London.
Mark currently sits on the Board of Invitel, a Hungarian telecom company. Mark holds an MA in Modern Languages and Philosophy from Oxford University.
Alexander Langham, Partner
Alexander has over 15 years' experience in finance. He started his career in Ernst & Young Consulting's Investment Banking Team before moving to the Hedge fund industry, working for Trafalgar Assets Managers and Cyrus Capital Partners as a Prop Trader focusing on distressed debt trading in both London and New York.
In 2009, Alexander moved to the sellside and became Head of European Credit Trading for StormHarbour and was a Partner at Sunrise Brokers.
Alexander holds a BA in Business and Modern Languages.
Brett Jeffries-Shaw, Managing Director
Brett has almost 30 years of capital markets and advisory experience, including structuring and execution of numerous innovative real estate, project finance and infrastructure financings in both developed and emerging markets.
Brett started his career on the Chase Manhattan credit programme and also had stints at Deutsche Bank and ABN AMRO before spending 7 years at Bear Stearns as the Deputy Head of Private Placements. Brett was co-head of RBC’s Structured Bond Solutions team and recently headed Hill International’s project finance team.
He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Warwick University.
Lanre Oloniniyi, Affiliate
Lanre Oloniniyi is an Energy Economist with over 15 years of commercial, management and investment experience in the International and African natural resources sector. Lanre brings on-board good origination and commercial skills, which he has developed by working on a wide array of cross-industry transactions. Prior to his current roles, Lanre worked at BP, Subsea 7 and Citi Bank in the UK, where he held senior role responsibilities covering M&A, commercial contracts, as well as, global business development in Africa, Norway, Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea.
Lanre has a BSc in Economics from University of Ado, an MSc in Energy Economics from the University of Dundee and an MBA from Cambridge University.
Rosamaria Elefante, Affiliate
Rosamaria has more than 15 years' experience as financial executive director and board member in the shipping industry.
Her work has covered fund raising and joint venture transactions, due diligence investigations, risk management projects, investment valuations, shipping finance transactions such as company acquisitions and sale and purchase of single assets, financial reporting to international standards and strategic business planning. Rosamaria holds a BSc (Hons) in Business and Economics.
Thomas Hampf, Affiliate
Thomas has been a Specialist in the NPL business for more than 20 years. He has substantial experience in acquiring portfolios of all asset classes, being CFO and MD of businesses in Germany such as Lindorff, Hoist, Transcom and Aktiv Kapital, leading European suppliers for the purchase and servicing of non-performing loans.
Prior to this he was Audit and Tax Manager with PWC in Germany.
